Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction groups meet for a set number of weeks under the guidance of a trained spiritual director. Some Spiritual Direction groups have a particular topic or are organized around a book, others are more general in their focus.

What is Spiritual Direction?

At the heart of Spiritual Direction is an emphasis on helping an individual or group pay attention to the movement of God in their life, and their response to that movement.

Spiritual Direction is a historical Christian practice—rooted in the early church—that sits at the intersection of “discipleship” and “prayer.” Although there are different forms of spiritual direction (individual, group, etc.), and different ways of doing each of these things, the basic components of an on-going spiritual direction relationship remain the same: individuals gathering together in a purposeful way in order to deepen their faith through discernment, accountability, confession, and prayer.
